 Second Annual Conservation Fair

Co-Sponsored by Waldo County Soil and Water Conservation District and UMaine Tanglewood 4-H Learning Center

May 17, 2011

Please join us for the second annual Waldo County Conservation Fair, May 17th from 10 - 1:30, at Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center in Lincolnville Maine. This exciting event is geared towards 4th and 5th grade students and teachers. The Fair features presentations, and exhibits all with a conservation and ecology theme. Students engage in hands on activities on topics such as wetland habitats, wildlife, forestry and aquatic life. Free materials are available for teachers. There is no charge to send students to the Fair.

The Fairs principle objectives are:

To provide direct student and teacher interaction with environmental professionals.

To provide teachers with resource.

To develop student interest in conservation.

To promote networking

Schools in Waldo County are eligible. Time and space constraints limit the number of participants to 120 students and their teachers. Consequently attendance at the Fair is not guaranteed, but determined on a competitive basis. Schools will be selected on the basis of geographical balance, on numbers of students. We will maintain a waiting list for schools that are not selected this year and allow them first opportunity at next years Fair.

Please mail the completed REGISTRATION FORM by March 22 and send to
